New Organization System
This year, we are moving to a bookstore model of organization in our Reading Counts section. In the past, students needed to know an author's name in order to find a book. Now that titles are broken down and shelved according to their genres, students can more easily find books that suit their tastes.
Noodle Tools
Noodle Tools has come to Clinton Prairie HS! All students will be able to create an account that will help them organize research projects, create correct citations, take notes, and write papers in one handy interface that is accessible through any Internet connection. Use of this tool will allow students to focus more on the content and reliability of sources instead of keeping track of physical note and source cards. In addition, students can share their projects with teacher drop boxes, from which teachers can see student progress and offer comments and suggestions along the way.
Classroom Collaboration
Mrs. Scott is available to collaborate with classroom teachers to create project-based assessments that go beyond the norm. Teachers provide the curricular content to students, and Mrs. Scott provides instruction in tech tools and research skills. When these aspects combine, students have the opportunity to express their learning in a way that embraces 21st century learning skills.
Currently, Mrs. Scott is working with classroom teachers on projects using Storybird, IWitness, and Twitter. More specific information will be available upon the completion of these projects.
