All About Judaism
Followers are called Jews. Judaism is a monotheistic religion. A common figure is Abraham. The Sabbath day/Holy day starts Friday evening to Sat. eve, the goals of Judaism is to live a good life according to the laws of Torah. Some Jews only eat kosher foods that means no pork, mixing of milk and meat products, or shellfish, Jews also have bar/bat Mitzvahs' where a girl (12) or a boy (13) is now considered an adult to the Jewish religion. The place of worship is called The Holy Ark. The worship leader for the Jewish religion is called a Rabbi. The holy book is called a Tenach. The holidays that Jews celebrate are Rosh Hashanah, which is a Jewish new year festival, Yom Kippur, which is the day of Antonement during which fasting ends, Passover, which marks liberation of Jews from slavery in Egypt, Hanukkah, which is the festival of lights.The holy city/place is Israel.
