Blue and White Day
- This Friday, May 26th, is Blue and White Day. Our day will begin with a visit to the pancake breakfast! Your child may want a very light breakfast at home on that morning, as we will head to the gym for pancakes and sausage at about 8:15.
- Children may wear free dress on Friday, as long as it is their team's assigned color. Please be sure your child wears comfortable play clothes, including sturdy sneakers. It is a very active day for the children and they will participate in numerous games and activities.

Homework
Tuesday-Online Math
Wednesday-Journal-This week we read a story about a mystery that took place in a library. Lily noticed that there were many mystery books that went missing. What kind of library book is your favorite to read? Write at least 3 sentences to tell what kind of books you like to read form the library and why. Please illustrate your writing, too!
Thursday-Thursday-Catch up night! Please complete any unfinished work from the week. If there isn't anything in your folder, please take some time to review the spelling words. With the extra time you will have, find something FUN to do-play outside, read a favorite book, play a favorite game, the possibilities are endless!

Please Return Library Books
Summer is almost here, and there are only a few weeks of school left. On that note, library checkouts will stop this week, as we are actively encouraging students to return their library books. Exceptions will be made if a student needs a particular title for class.
Students will receive a weekly "receipt" of the books they currently have checked out. That will allow them to check off the books they have located and return them to the library. The "receipt" will reflect fewer titles checked out until all books are returned. There are no overdue charges for library books returned.
In the event that a book cannot be located and the student has determined it is truly lost, please send a payment to the library for the book(s) lost. Checks are payable to "Mayfield Junior School" and please write in the memo "library payment." All library payments must be taken care of by Thursday, June 8.
Many thanks for your support of the library. For families who plan to participate in Summer Reading, the program will kick off on Thursday, June 8, and conclude on Saturday, September 23. Summer Reading information will be posted in the grade-level newsletters on Monday, June 5, and in the Maywire on Tuesday, June 6.
Sincerely,
The Librarians
