Hola (Hi) y (and) Welcome
Here are some things you will learn in Spanish 1A
First you will learn the sounds of the vowels:
a sounds like "ah" as in "mama."
e sounds like "eh" as in "pet."
i sounds like "ee" as in "see."
o sounds like "o" as in "no."
u sounds like "oo" as in "too"

We will also need to add these special letters:
h (no sound/silent) as in "hola, hotel"
j sounds like an "h" as in "José, jalapeño"

que / qué sounds like "k" (Qué día es hoy) - What day is today?

Maybe you see that the names of some of the months are a lot like their English names:
enero, febrero, marzo, abril, mayo, junio
julio, agosto, septiembre, octubre, noviembre, diciembre

To say the date in Spanish:
