Dr. Foster's Weekly Update (Watch Below)
For Those That Signed Up for the PSAT on 10/29/2020:
**The following message went out this morning to students that signed up to take the PSAT on 10/29/2020**
Good Morning LMHS Students and Families,
If you’re receiving this, it means you or your student(s) reserved a spot for the PSAT/NMSQT test on Thursday, October 29, 2020. While we are still over a month away, I wanted to give you some preliminary information about what you and/or your student needs to know/do before test day.
In order to administer this test, schools must follow local public health guidelines and should be prepared to implement last-minute changes. If last minute changes occur, students and families will be notified using the email address provided through the google registration form.
Students should review PSAT/NMSQT expectations and more information with regards to the actual test. Use this link to see all of the resources and information available through Collegeboard. There are also practice questions available and guidance on preparing for test day.
The test fee is $17. However, it does not need to be submitted at this time. Please stay tuned for an email regarding when and how to pay.
CDC recommended precautions that we will follow on test day:
· Requiring and/or providing face masks, gloves, and hand sanitizer
· Spacing students at least 6 feet apart to adhere to social distancing guidelines
· Encouraging students and staff to practice regular handwashing and stay home if they are sick
Please stay tuned to more emails in coming weeks with further details regarding test day procedures such as pick-up/drop-off and traffic pattern, student check-in, what students need to bring, and other logistical items for safely administering the PSAT/NMSQT to our students. Expect that our plans will take into account that a little over 200 students have signed up to take the test at Male on that day. To make the day as safe as possible for all, there will be detailed information that everyone will need to review prior to arrival and adhere to while on campus.
Finally, if you or your student change your decision about taking the test with us on October 29, please contact me. We understand that the COVID-19 situation is a fluid one. Students and families will not be penalized for not taking the test, but please let us know so we can plan accordingly.
If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me via email.
Sincerely,
Leah Walz
