Survey
Omaha Public Schools conducts annual performance appraisal evaluations of Principals/Program Directors along with perceptions of the learning environment in each building.
The survey should take approximately 10 minutes to complete and should be completed during the survey timelines defined below.
Staff
- Survey Dates: April 12-April 29
- How to access: An anonymous survey link will be emailed directly to staff. Please take the survey before the window closes.
Students
- Survey Dates: April 12—[until sufficient responses have been collected]
- How to access: Survey links will be sent to students OPS email accounts in grades 5th and 6th. They will be required to enter their student number in order to access the survey.
- Notes: School counselors will be asked to help with this process.
Parents
- Survey Dates: Reminder on April 12
- How to access: www.TinyURL.com/OPSParentVoice
- Notes: Parents now give feedback throughout the year with the Parent Voice survey.
Cafeteria
Fifth and sixth grade students will begin eating in the cafeteria next week!
Playground Injuries

Outside Recess
If inside recess must be held due to inclement weather or playground conditions an announcement will be made towards the start of the school day.

4th, 5th and 6th Grade Dismissal
To help alleviate congestion in the hallway, at dismissal, we would like all 4th-6th grade teachers to follow the plan listed below. Please follow the times and locations where students wait for their dismissal plan. This new plan will go into effect on April 11th.
- All 4th-6th grade bus students will line up in the hallway, at 3:52pm. All other students will wait in their classrooms. Terry, Riley, and Molly will watch the three classrooms whose teacher takes the grade level bus kids to the bus. We will wait with those students until the bus teacher returns to their classroom.
- 3:55pm 6th grade bus students start walking to their bus. 5th grade bus students will follow 6th grade and 4th grade bus students will follow 5th grade.
- 4:00pm 4th grade walkers start walking outside for dismissal
- 4:03pm 5th grade walkers start walking outside for dismissal
- 4:05pm 6th grade walkers start walking outside for dismissal
- 4:05pm Admin will take 6th grade walkers (with no siblings) out the front door.
Spring Fundraiser
Mandatory Reporting Procedures
- Immediately make a report to Child Protective Services at 1-800-652-1999
- Notify the school principal as soon as CPS has been notified
Cafeteria, Top 10 Procedures & Routines
- Enter the cafeteria in ABC/Lunch Line order
- Maintain inside voice level while in the cafeteria
- Keep your hands, feet, and other objects to yourself
- Take only 1 silverware packet and 1 milk
- Remain seated at your assigned table
- Keep your feet under the table---6 students per side
- Raise your hand if have a question or need something from your lunch supervisor
- Eat only your food
- Wait for your classroom teacher to signal that it's time to line up
- Take all personal belongings with you when leaving
Teacher Resignation Deadline
If you are resigning and will not be working in OPS next school year you need to notify Human Resources by 5:00 pm on Friday, April 29, 2022. This is a one-year adjustment in the resignation date published in District Policy. Please note that if you resign after this date, you would be considered under contract and your resignation will not be accepted unless the district is able to find a suitable replacement.
Engagement Strategy---Timed Pair Share
