Stallion Scoop π΄
February
π Note from the Principal
Hello Stallion Families!
As we step into the month of February, I am filled with excitement for all the wonderful events and opportunities that lie ahead for our school community. February is a time for us to come together, celebrate diversity, and continue our journey of learning and growth.
I want to extend a warm welcome to all the families joining us for our Kinder Round-Up event on February 8th. We're thrilled to showcase our Kindergarten program and help you envision the bright future ahead for your little ones in our school family.
Additionally, I want to remind parents of our upcoming Parent/Teacher Conferences on February 8th and 9th. These conferences are a valuable opportunity for open communication between home and school, ensuring the success and well-being of every child.
As we celebrate Valentine's Day on February 14th, let's take a moment to show appreciation for the love and kindness that fills our school community every day. Whether it's a handwritten note, a kind gesture, or a smile in the hallway, let's spread love and positivity wherever we go.
February is also Black History Month, a time to honor the rich contributions and achievements of African Americans throughout history. I encourage students and families to explore the stories, experiences, and legacies of African American leaders who have shaped our world.
Our Heart Healthy Challenge Kick Off Assembly on February 19th marks the beginning of a month-long journey towards wellness and healthy living. I encourage students and families to participate in the various activities and challenges planned throughout the month.
Looking ahead, we have exciting events such as the EEF Shoe Shopping Field Trip, Peter Piper Pizza Fundraiser Night, and the Rodeo Break to look forward to. These experiences not only enrich our academic curriculum but also create lasting memories for our students.
I want to express my gratitude to our dedicated teachers and staff for their unwavering commitment to our students' success. Your passion, creativity, and hard work truly make a difference in the lives of our students every day.
Together, let's make February a month filled with learning, laughter, love, and a celebration of Black history. Thank you for your continued support and partnership in making our school community a place where every child can thrive.
Warm regards,
Principal Jessica Harris

4th Grade Teacher: Hannah Norville
Hi, I'm Mrs. Norville!! I am a 4th grade teacher at Steele this year, and I have been having a great time! I've always wanted to be a teacher, and WOW it is so satisfying, challenging, and exciting! Here are a few things about me: I graduated in May, got married in June, and I love spending time outside! Some hobbies of mine include rock climbing, pickleball, hiking, hammocking, and going to new places! I enjoy trying new coffee shops and restaurants around Tucson with my husband. Let me know your recommendations!!
Teacher's Assistant: Robin Bizub
My name is Robin. For the last ten years or so I have been called Mr. B. I am an Army Veteran. During my enlistment, I was a Mechanized Infantryman. For my last tour, I was stationed at Camp Hovey, South Korea.
My family moved to Arizona in 1980 from a small town in upstate New York called Watertown. Once we moved to Tucson, I was enrolled here at Steele when I was in second grade. I came back to work at Steele about 15 years ago. Go Stallions!!
I like collecting things. I have about 1,700 comic books as well as nearly 12,000 (mostly) non-sport trading cards in my collection.
Library Assistant: Christina Payette
Hi, I'm Mrs. Christina. I've been at Steele for 6 years. I started out as a monitor and I'm now the library assistant. I love reading books to the students. I love hearing about why students love certain books. I love to introduce them to books they never would think of reading. Fun fact my daughters were students here at Steele many years ago and I began working here after they went to middle school. I'm a Disney fanatic so I'm obviously obsessed with Mickey and Minnie Mouse.
Student of the Month ππ
This February, our teachers will be on the lookout for honesty heroes. Throughout the month, they'll be observing and celebrating students who demonstrate exceptional honesty in their everyday actions and interactions. Parents, we encourage you to join us in fostering honest behaviors at home by having open conversations about the importance of integrity and truthfulness. Let's work together to create a culture of honesty and integrity in our school community! Who knows? Your child might just find themselves in the spotlight as our next Student of the Month! π
