Clinton Cougar Newsletter
Dear Clinton Families,
It is great to be back in school and with our happy smiling students!
We are also excited to introduce our new teachers.
Mrs. Koons is joining us as a 3rd grade teacher. She was an amazing Clinton teacher before, but spent last year teaching remotely for the Davis Connect program. We are glad to have her back!
Mrs. Flynn is our new full-time Kindergarten teacher. She previously taught 3rd grade, but had always wanted to be in Kindergarten, and we are happy to help her fulfill her dream!
Mrs. Mathis is our new part-time Kindergarten teacher. Last year she taught with Davis Connect, and prior to that she was a Kindergarten teacher at another school. We are glad that we could lure her away to our school!
Ms. Mendiola is new to our 2nd grade team. Last year she taught a 2nd/3rd split at another school in Davis District, and she thinks having only one grade of students is so fabulous!
We are still looking for a few parents to participate on Community Council. We meet 5-6 times a year for about an hour (or less). Contact Mrs. Lundell if you are willing to serve.

Summit Learning Update
Our teachers are fully engaged in learning and growing with their students as we implement a program that will better meet individual student needs.
We will have many learning milestones along the way, but for this week, we are excited that 100% of our students have been able to start on a Summit Learning Project.
Lunch is on us!
Please continue to sign up for Free/Reduced Lunch, as there are sometimes other benefits attached. You can do this through your MyDSD account.
This month we are learning about home court advantage and how Clinton is our home court, our safe place to try new things, to support each other and to cheer each other on. We are focusing on teamwork and what that looks like, feels like and sounds like. Everything we do affects those around us, and it’s important to create that safe environment and that home court advantage by being that positive team player.
The PTA Fall Carnival will be held on September 24th, beginning at 5:30 PM. The carnival will be followed by our annual Outdoor Movie Night, which will begin about 8:00 PM. School shirts will be on sale at the Carnival.
September 17th is Walk to School Day. Students are encouraged to walk to school with their friends and family. Treats will be handed out in the bowery for all the students and parents.
Our PTA appreciates parent volunteers, if you are willing to help out with this event, or any other PTA activity, then please contact Jen Martinez.
