The Manning Weekly Newsletter
November 1, 2019
Dear Families,
What a wild week of weather and festivities! Thanks for hanging in there with us.
We had a wonderful Day of Hope today, and we were able to come together to raise over $5000 for Robbie's Hope. We are proud to support that organization's fight against teen suicide.
I look forward to celebrating Fall Fest and the Halloween Dance tonight! Every time our amazing community comes together, I am reminded of this simple truth: it takes a village to raise a child. I feel lucky that Manning is our village.
Thanks, as always, for sharing your kids with us; it is our honor to serve them!

Guiding question: How can I be a critical consumer and creator of news and media?
Reflections 2019-20, “Look Within”
Hats off to the 15 students who put their creative talents to use by entering this year’s PTA Reflections Art Contest. With the theme, “Look Within,” we received many unique, imaginative and inspired pieces in the categories of Visual Arts, Photography, and Literature.
The pieces were judged within their category by three local artists, and we are proud to announce that the following students’ pieces will be moving on to the Jeffco District competition!
In Visual Arts, 8th grader Rowyn Bailey with her piece, “Overgrown,” 8th grader Margaux Dempsey, with “In a Blink of an Eye,” and 8th grader Adan Marquez with “Impulsive Thinking.”
In Photography, 8th grader Lizzy Spencer, with her piece, “The Seeping Gray,” and 7th grader Ella Yancey, with her piece, “My Cello.”
And in Literature, 7th grader Skylar Mercer, who wrote “Ode to Family,” 6th grader Jaida Jones with “Ode to Music,” and 6th grader Kieran Baker, who penned “Ode to grit and resilience in losing.”
These entries will be judged against middle schools from across Jefferson County and winners announced in early December.
Artwork of those students that aren’t moving on can be picked up in the Front Office starting Tuesday, November 5.
Congratulations to all!
