Thousands of years of history rest at Macon’s Ocmulgee National Monument. Its ties with the community and Native Americans are deep, but do Georgians know the real history? Stories of the slave trade, The New Deal, and segregation can all be told in an Ocmulgee setting. Middle Georgia State College History professor Matthew Jennings has compiled an “Images of America” book that treks through the long and complicated history of Ocmulgee. Come hear more about the fascinating history of this ancient site.
