Sustainable Thinking for the Future of Libraries: April 28, 2017
Libraries of all types must take an active, visible role in building sustainable and resilient communities. Our future depends on it. We will explore the importance of infusing the core value of sustainability into everything we do, and demonstrate how libraries that lead into the future using “sustainable thinking” fulfill our mission as libraries in new and innovative ways. "Sustainable Thinking" is a concept that aligns the core values of libraries with the "Triple Bottom Line" definition of sustainability: economic feasibility, environmental stewardship and social justice to inspire investment and build support for the future.

In this workshop, Judy will pull together anywhere from 20-50 of her personal list of memorable favorites from the past year, depending on the length of the workshop (ranging from one hour to all-day). She will show and tell the ways she has used them to inspire children through curricular tie-in activities including storytelling, creative drama, Reader’s Theater, poetry, songs, writing and illustrating, and booktalking for grades K-6.
