Students Invited to Join Student Council
Half Day School Student Council is getting ready to start up again! As part of the Student Council students will share ideas, organize school spirit days, and develop ways to give back to the community. Two students from each class will be selected from those students who apply. Any student who is responsible, cooperative, fair, and committed to working hard would make a great representative.
Meetings take place on scheduled Tuesdays after school from 3:40-4:30 p.m. Again, two representatives from each class will be picked. If they are interested, students should complete the online application by Friday, Sept. 16.
Selected students will be notified shortly after the deadline with further instructions. Members who are chosen will need to pay the district activity fee of $25.
Musical Groups Pay Through PowerSchool
We are excited for families of students who have joined chorus, band, and orchestra to begin practicing. If parents have not already done so, please pay for your musical program through our PowerSchool parent portal platform.
We just recently switched over to a new parent portal platform, which may be why some families have been unable to pay their musical fee. Music fees - chorus, band, orchestra - are paid through PowerSchool NOT RevTrak. If you have not set up an account under the new parent portal, please follow these directions:
Click on the “Forgot Username or Password” link.
On the next screen, click on the “Forgot Username?” tab, enter the email address you previously used for logging into the Parent Portal/Unified Classroom, and click “Enter.”
You will then receive an email from powerschool@d103.org containing your username (the email may end up in your spam/junk email). This email may take several minutes to arrive.
Next, go back to https://d103.powerschool.com/public and click on the “Forgot Username or Password” link again.
This time, select the “Forgot Password?” tab, enter the username you just received in the email, then enter the email address you previously used for logging into the Parent Portal/Unified Classroom.
You will then receive an email from powerschool@d103.org containing a link to reset your password (the email may end up in your spam/junk email). This email may take several minutes to arrive. Please follow the directions in the email for resetting your password.
After resetting your password, return to https://d103.powerschool.com/public, enter your username and password, and you should then have access to the PowerSchool Parent Portal.
Late Arrival Reminder
Thursday, Sept. 15, will be the first of four late arrival days for D103 students. Late arrival days allow our teachers and staff extended time to collaborate on instructional planning and professional development to improve student learning.
Students start school 90 minutes later than their normal start time, which means buses will arrive 90 minutes later than their scheduled arrival time.
- School starts at 10:30 a.m.
- Please do not drop students off at school before 10:10 a.m.

Smart Watches and Cell Phones in Lockers Only
We have seen an increase in the number of students with smart watches and cell phones in classrooms. Smart watches and phones are allowed at school but must be turned off and stored in the student's locker during school hours unless otherwise allowed by the school principal. Phones and smart watches may be used before and after school hours. This is to limit distractions and ensure a safe learning environment for all students. If you need to reach your child, please contact the school office by phone or email.
