News & Information for Tiger Families

Letter from the Principal

Tiger Families,

It is hard to believe that this next week, will be the last full week of school for our 8th graders! It certainly has been a busy one for them. On Wednesday, our St. Teresa 8th graders did a beautiful job honoring Mary at the May Crowning Mass.

Then the next morning they stepped on the bus at 6:30 am to head to Ondessonk to enjoy two days in the fresh air. It was a great trip, with fabulous weather, and I am certain that life long memories were made.

Next Friday, May 12th surely will not disappoint, as it is the much anticipated Faith Family Field Day!! Mrs. Duncan, Mrs. Skaer, and Mrs. Neville have been hard at work to ensure students have a great time! And don't forget after the 11:30 dismissal to stop in the Parish Center and get a book or two, at our BOGO Book Fair Sale!

DO YOU WANT A YEARBOOK BUT FORGOT TO ORDER ONE? You are in luck! Mrs. Robinson has 6 extra yearbooks for sale. They are $15 first come first serve. Students should bring the money to Mrs. Robinson.

A HUGE thank you to everyone who has registered already!! Currently, we only have 120 students who have committed to returning to St. Teresa for the 2023 - 2024 school year.

If you are planning on returning to St. Teresa for the 2023-2024 school year, please send in your registration form asap! Thank you!

As always, we thank you for sharing your student with us. We appreciate your trust, support, and partnership.

Sincerely,

Nicole Green

Principal

School Board Survey

Hello St. Teresa families!

As we near the end of the 2022 - 2023 school year, the St. Teresa school board would like to ask all parents/guardians to complete the school board survey. The school board will use this survey to help us advise on school related topics for the upcoming school year.

Each parent or guardian may respond to the survey individually, if desired. The survey will collect the responses anonymously, so all respondents can be assured that their answers will remain confidential.

The survey can be accessed by using the following link: St. Teresa Survey

We request that all responses be completed by the end of the day on Friday, May 12, 2023. The school board will summarize the responses and share the summary with families in the following weeks.

If there are any questions, please feel free to email me directly.

Thank you all very much for your consideration and feedback!

Sincerely,

Greg Mertens

CATCH THE CBAY SPIRIT

Happy May!

The next CBAY gathering is this Sunday, May 7 from 6:30-8 p.m. in the Youth Room at St. Augustine. All 6th-12th graders are welcome! Msgr. McGhee will be our special guest and will be happy to answer all your questions in our "Ask Father" segment! (If you've ever had a conversation with "Father Bill", you know how fun that can be!) As always, there will be games and snacks and an opportunity to pray together for any concerns and in thanksgiving for our blessings. Tell a friend ~ bring a friend!

Our last gathering of the school year will be May 21 to celebrate all Class of '23 graduates! That's you, 8th and 12th graders! If you play an instrument (including your voice!), please bring it along with whatever music you wish to play on it!

Parents and young adults (college age or older) are also invited to join in the fun! If you have any questions, please contact Laurie Lindauer at 618-910-3804 or lmlindauer@gmail.com.

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL

Illinois State Law states that all students in Illinois must attend 176 days of school. Due to some confusion with the movement of principals, students were scheduled to attend 179 days of school for the 2022-2023 school year. That being said, we DO NOT NEED TO MAKE UP SNOW DAYS.

The official last day of St. Teresa School will be May 24th.
