What We're Learning
In class this week:
Reading: We are reading poetry, and learning how to identify and use rhyming words to help us hear the music and rhythm, in a poem. We are also using rhyming pairs to help us generate additional rhyming words--words that share the same ending sound. Some words rhyme and are spelled the same, and others aren't!
Math: We are working on identifying the parts of a whole, and the total of two parts. We can use this skill to help us as we become better problem solvers. Knowing the relationship between parts and their whole (fact families) help us to easily add or subtract to answer problems.
Science: We are studying soil and what it's made of. What can we see when we look at soil, and how can we describe its attributes? (texture and color and components)
