Description: If you haven't already explored the great resources on the AASL 2019 Best Websites for Teaching and Learning list, then get ready to introduced to some new resources you can share with your colleagues and use with students on Monday. This is not a repeat from the January webinar, but it will explore more of the AASL best websites not covered in January.

ADVOCACY • LEADERSHIP • COLLABORATION
LEGISLATIVE ADVOCACY: Reach out to your local legislators to promote school libraries and emphasize the impact the library program has for ALL students. Write, call, email, Tweet, shake hands, meet for coffee - whatever it takes to get the ear of your legislators:
- Increase library enhancement funds - Currently the HB187 has Library Enhancement Funds at $200.00/teacher unit (page 24)
- Strengthen the librarians role in fostering literacy within a school
- Instructional partnerships between librarians and classroom teachers to benefit all students
We are teaming up with ALLA for Library Legislative Day & a Learning Opportunity
- Jo Bonner, Governor's Chief of Staff
- ADECA/Census 2020 Office Staff will speak about the importance and awareness of Census 2020 (resources for libraries)
- ALA Advocacy Office Staff will present library advocacy and leadership training

*Purchase orders / Checks / Credit Cards are welcomed. All registration will be handled by McRae Events Mangagement. You can select ASLA event only registration through the online and paper options.
Aisha Saeed, author keynote speaker, will be signing books. These books will be available for pre-order and will be available for pickup at the conference. You may purchase these for pickup through the EventBrite (credit cards).
Books will not be available for purchase onsite; books must be preordered.
Volunteer with ASLA
We are always looking for volunteers for events, planning, and even serving as an officer or executive board member. You will find all committees available, roles, and responsibilities on the website.

In newsrooms, if someone has too strong a connection to a story, they are said to have a conflict of interest. Their personal bias disqualifies them from covering the story.
