The Akkadians traded: wood for ships, stone for tools and tin and copper to make bronze.
Writing and Symbols
Akkadians used Sumero- Akkadian cuneiform.
They used wedge shaped symbols inscribed on clay tablets with a reed stylus. When they placed clay tokens in a clay container, they would make the shape of a token on the outside for however many tokens were put into the box to fewer the confusion of how many were put in there.
Clay Tokens
The clay tokens were how they kept a count on agricultural and manufactured goods.
Language
People in Mesopotamia spoke different forms of semitic language. The Akkadians spoke east semitic Akkadian.
