- The PBIS team is working on our teach-to rotations and will be sharing that information on institute day.
Building Access: Information Item
Classroom Snacks: Information Item
As a reminder, all classrooms will follow these guidelines for snacks in the classroom. No other snacks are to be consumed.
We piloted this in 2-grade levels last year and it went well. If you have students who don't have access to fresh fruits or vegetables let me know. We had options available with extra fruits and vegetables left from the lunchroom. Once we receive parent permission, we can help provide snacks on an as-needed basis.
Here is the letter:
When your children come to Holmes School, our first priority is to keep them safe! Because of the number of students with food allergies in our school, we have put the following snack guidelines in place in all classrooms:
- Students will keep their zippered lunch boxes in our lunch bin outside of the classroom.
- Students may eat a snack of fresh fruit or fresh vegetables in the classroom mid-morning.
- Students will wash hands at the beginning of the day, after snack, and after lunch to help minimize traces of allergens in our classrooms.
- Students should not share food at any time.
No other foods will be permitted in the classroom.
We realize this is different from past years. We are very grateful to you and your students for understanding the need for these precautions. Our teachers and entire Holmes staff appreciate your help in keeping our children safe!
