Delightful December
Thank You!
Thank you so much to all of the families that came out for our open house/conference cafe night! Your wonderful kids are so proud of the work they've done, and it's such a treat to get to share some of those moments with you.
Learning Outdoors
We've been enjoying some unseasonably warm weather, and taking advantage of the extra opportunities for exercise. That said, we are guessing that before we know it, our playground will be covered with snow. Please remember to send in warm coats, gloves, scarves, boots, and hats along with your kiddos as the thermometer takes a dive.
Math
We have been moving through some tricky and exciting material in math. We've mastered clocks to the hour and half hour, and will start counting by 2s, 5s, and 10s in the next few weeks. In the new year, we plan to offer an enrichment packet of work for any student who would like some extra brain busting work.
Reading
this incredible group of first graders has now learned all long vowels with that "magic e" (ask them to sing 'the e at the end makes the o say it's name!) as well as sounds like sh, th, wh, ch, and many more. These students can now real clearly, fluently and with expression when they practice. Make reading part of your nightly routine, and soon your first graders will be doing all the hard work on their own!

Snack
We are fortunate to have a fruit or vegetable snack provided twice a week. Students have tried pomegranates, orange slices, tomatoes and melon. However, we are still in need of donations for the rest of the week days. If you happen to find a sale, or think of us while shopping, we would appreciate whatever you have. Favorites include granola bars, goldfish crackers, fruit snacks, and pretzels. Thank you!
