3/21/20 Update- Distribution Plan

Dear Parents,

Our staff has been working diligently to prepare a system for supply, technology device, and instruction delivery. We want to commend you all for your patience and support during this time. We are here to help! Please read carefully below for additional information.

Instructional Delivery

Distance Learning will begin on Wednesday, March 25, 2020.


A webpage has been created for all of our students to access materials and resources for eLearning. All information will be located at www.wpisd.com. The site will go live on Tuesday for eLearning to begin on Wednesday.


THERE IS NO MANDATORY SCHEDULE FOR STUDENTS TO ACCESS WORK DAILY. ALL ASSIGNMENTS WILL BE GIVEN ON A WEEKLY BASIS.


TEACHERS WILL COMMUNICATE THEIR AVAILABLE "OFFICE HOURS" TO FAMILIES BEFORE TUESDAY, MARCH 24, 2020.


All teachers will have a designated space on the website. Downloadable materials will be available.


Most secondary students are quite familiar with Google Classroom. Google Classroom will be utilized during this time. All links will be found on the website.


Video supports will be published to help parents and students learn how to access and work with downloadable assignments.

Technology Devices/School Supplies

TUESDAY MARCH 24, 2020

A plan has been developed for families IN NEED to pick up devices from WPISD.


If your family has a need, but is unable to participate in this event, please email communications@wpisd.com or contact your campus principal.



Location: High School (All campuses will pick up here)

Devices will be picked up as “Drive Thru”


Pick Up Times:

7:30 – 9:00 Primary students

9:15-10:45 Woods Intermediate students

11:00-12:30 Middle School students

1:00-2:30 Junior High students

2:45-4:15 High School students


IF YOU HAVE STUDENTS ON MULTIPLE CAMPUSES, YOU WILL ONLY NEED TO DRIVE THROUGH ONCE.

Families with 2 or fewer students= 1 device

Families with 3 or more students= 2 devices


Device Drive Thru Procedures

  • DO NOT leave your vehicle. Officers will be directing traffic
  • Personnel working pick up line will be using Personal Protective Equipment
  • Parent will be given form(s) to sign – please keep the ink pen



Network Access

During Distance Learning time, The Wills Point High School Student parking lot on the EAST SIDE of the school is set up and ready for internet access. Any student or staff member from the district will be able to access the internet using their WPISD provided credentials from their vehicle.




Community Internet Zones

(10 locations)

Additional locations have been set up for families to access internet services outside of the district. Please do not exit your vehicle while using these options.

Technology Helpdesk

Chrome Crew

Our Chrome Crew Interns will offer a Help Desk starting next week to assist you and your on-line instruction needs. Our Chrome Crew staff are Google Certified and ready to assist you.

A form will be posted soon to request assistance.


Chrome Crew hours will be from:

10:00am-1:00pm each weekday.
