Oster's Education Donation Drive!
We are nearing the close of our first Education Fund Drive contest! We have raised over $35,000 so far, which is absolutely amazing. Because of your support, we are able to provide enrichment programs to the students, fund field trips, and support our teachers and staff with supplies for their classrooms. Thank you all who have donated thus far!
As of Friday, October 1, we will determine which classroom has had the most participation thus far. The three classrooms that are currently in the lead are Ms. Pascucci-Luevano's class, Ms. Yoshioka's class, and Ms. Ullmark's class! There are several classrooms that are just behind them, so get your donations in by Friday. The class with the most participation will be awarded with a prize!
Our Education Fund Drive will continue through December, and the class with the most participation by then will be rewarded with a pizza party! So please donate if you can - any amount helps our school.
Thank you all for your support! Go Cougars!
HALLOWEEN IS COMING!
While we are unable to have our traditional parade on campus with families and friends, we will do something fun for the students. We will have a Halloween Parade for students and staff on October 29! Students will wear their costumes to school and parade around our field for parents to watch through the perimeter of the outside gate. Please have your child wear clothing under their costumes so they can easily change out of the costume if they'd like. More information to come later.
Oster Is Still In Need Of Parent Helpers During Lunch Time!

Our chess program will cover the very basics for new students to the game and we can challenge experienced players with more advanced concepts. Students will have the opportunity to learn the moves of the pieces, opening strategy, tactics, checkmates and endgame play. Students will also learn valuable life skills through chess, such as winning and losing with grace, sportsmanship, planning and team spirit. San Jose Public Library Cards for our Students
Union School District and the San Jose Public Library have partnered to issue all of our USD students a digital library card that can be used to access books and more at San Jose Public Libraries, SJPL.org, and through the Sora app. Your student's digital library card is a fourteen digit number, beginning with 211935 and ending in your student's USD student ID number, <<Student ID>>. Add however many zeros are needed to reach fourteen digits. For example, if my student's ID number is 675655, their digital library card number would be 21193500675655. I've added two zeros so that the total number of digits in the number is fourteen. Your student's PIN is their four digit birthdate. For example, if their birthday is November 3rd, their PIN would be 1103. If your student was given a library card number last year, the number is the same and they may continue to use it. If your student joined us after September 1st, 2021, their digital library card will be available to use very soon. For instructions on how to access SJPL resources via the Sora app on USD devices, please view these PDF slides. <<For TK-1st: To sign in with Google, please use your student's USD Google ID:<USD Google ID>> and password<<USD Password>>. For information on SJPL usage policies, please visit https://www.sjpl.org/studentcard. If you have any questions, please email Dina Rabago at rabagod@unionsd.org or open a support ticket. Happy Reading!
