CMAS State Testing

CMAS state testing window is between March 29 - April 30, 2021. The final decision has yet to be made for testing but we are preparing just in case!

Fully remote students/families have been surveyed about their interest to help us create the safest schedule for entering the building. Details on the plan have been sent out along with an FAQ document. Be expecting a phone call within the next week if you did not complete the survey. Reach out to our Assistant Principal, Dr. Landry at if you have questions or concerns.

Face to face learning students will be testing during school hours on their synchronous days during the month of April.

More information to follow as we approach testing dates.

COVID-19 Vaccine Information

We are excited to announce that 27J staff is now eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine! With this great opportunity comes some challenges. Some of our staff members have received their first dose and have been scheduled to receive their second dose in 3 weeks or so depending on when the first one was given. We have heard that with the second shot, there have been a few side affects which seem to last upwards of 24 hours. We are working proactively to simultaneously take care of our adults along with our students so that we have enough personnel in the building everyday in order to remain open. We have no idea how each person's body will react to the vaccine so we are currently creating a class coverage process so that learning does not get interrupted. Wish us luck!!

Anti-Bullying Information

At Vikan we have been working with students and teachers on an Anti-Bullying campaign. In our first month we discovered and practiced the differences between Rude, Mean, and Bullying. Below are the working definitions of each of the terms we will be using at Vikan Middle School. Please review and discuss with your student.

In February, we will be talking about the differences between snitching & reporting, what to do if being bullied, what to do if you witness bullying and how to report.

Thank you for your support!
