West Side Story 2.0
August 21, 2023
Welcome to the 2023-24 School Year!
Back to School sales are in full swing, the Minnesota State Fair is right around the corner, and it is time to start welcoming our Scarlets back into the building!
Fall sports have started, and it is awesome to see students around the building. Even better is the positive energy they bring!
This is going to be the best year yet!
Class Schedules
Academic schedules for the 2023-24 school year will be accessible on Infinite Campus beginning Monday, August 21st at 8am.
Occasionally students wish to change their course selections shortly after they receive their schedule. Please keep in mind that teachers are assigned and courses are offered on the basis of the registration process, so we are only able to consider making schedule changes when the following criteria apply:
- A schedule conflict due to two or more courses being offered in the same hour.
- PSEO students who need to change their schedule to accommodate college courses.
- Closed or cancelled courses.
- Need courses to meet graduation requirements.
- Special Education requirements
- To make changes due to summer school credit earned
If you require a change to your schedule, please use the grade level form linked below based on what grade you will be entering this September. Schedule changes will only be processed via the google form, not through email. Approval of a schedule change is also dependent on the availability of space in each class.
Kick-Off Days Are Wednesday and Thursday of This Week
This is an opportunity for students and parents to take care of:

What If I Can't Make It To Kick-Off Days?
Open House Night
Students and families are invited to take a walk through the school, meet your teachers, and hear a little bit more about your classes. For 9th grade families, and any families who are new to West High School, we will have an informational meeting in the auditorium beginning at 6:30pm.
9th Grade Link Crew Day
9th graders are to report to the lobby by 8:00am. They will be engaged in activities until about 1:00pm. Hope to see our whole freshmen class in attendance!
Activity Passes
Passes and Tickets can also be purchased by visiting the Mankato Area Public Schools ISD 77 Box Office on the Mankato West Activities website, under "Purchase Tickets to Athletic Events"
Educational Benefits
Starting in the school year 2023-24, we're joining Minnesota's Free School Meals Program! All students can now enjoy one free breakfast and one free lunch each day at school. No application is needed for this benefit, but filling out the Application for Educational Benefits is still crucial.
Your student might qualify for other benefits, such as reduced fees at school. Plus, your application can help our school access education funds, discounts, and more meal programs.
Booster Club
The Mankato West Booster Club invites you to become a member of our organization. We are a group of parents and friends dedicated to supporting our student activities, school community, athletes, and coaching staff. Our mission is to assist in providing supplies, equipment, facility upgrades, and uniforms for high school activities. Our primary fundraisers include tier memberships, advertising, Scarlet Cards, income earned from the concession stands at the various athletic events, raffle sales, and the sale of Scarlet merchandise.
