EasyBib: Prevents plagiarism and promotes information literacy
Easybib is an online bibliography generator that will help your students create bibliographies in MLA or APA style, create outlines, and write virtual notecards! It's hard to describe the once tedious process of bib-making to the current generation. No more poring over citation manuals! Even librarians can appreciate that! Go to EasyBib.com to register and enter school code FKLHS to get all the bells and whistles! Contact me for more information or to schedule a tutorial for your students!
The New York Times in the Classroom
Did you know our campus has a subscription to the New York Times Replica edition? This means you and your students are able to read the Times on your desktop or other device connected to the internet. The replica edition also looks smart on your smartboard. You must enter username: 200349512 and password: 200349512 to access the site.
Need your students to search back issues? It's not so easy on the replica issue, but Infotrac Newstand on Gale Cengage database offers the NYT archives from 1995 to the present.
Campus Book Club: Encourage your students to join!
Encourage your students to join our Campus Book Club, which meets once a month in the library. Our next title is The Fault in our Stars by John Green, which has been lauded by both critics and readers, and will be released next year as a movie. Please consider giving extra-credit to students who participate.
