The mission of E.B. Comstock is to ensure the academic, social, and emotional success of all students by maintaining high-expectations and providing the most effective instruction in an environment where students are enriched by authentic learning experiences, are consistently involved in extracurricular activities, and positively supported throughout their daily interactions.

The vision of Comstock Middle School is to promote every student each year with the academic and social skills necessary to succeed in high school and beyond.

UNITED NEGRO COLLEGE FUND
Each year the Dallas Independent School District supports the United Negro College Fund (UNCF), the nation’s largest and most effective minority education organization, by launching a workplace campaign to raise funds for deserving college-bound students. The workplace campaign takes place from February 16 – April 16, 2018. Please see the attached letter from the Teaching and Learning Department and the flyers on ways to give to UNCF.

May 11th--Teachers submit SLO Goal Accomplishment in Schoolnet
Administrator approves, scores, and completes by May 18th
May 18th-- Last day to enter extended observations, summatives, and SLO scores into Schoolnet

Entrance Door Procedures
· Politely address the visitor and ask how they can be helped at the front door.
·Greet and ask, how you can serve them.
· Always consider weather conditions and don’t leave customers waiting.
Suggested Script:
“Good Morning, Welcome to School Name. How can we help you?
Come right in- the front office is located on the left”
(Buzz customer in the building and let them hear your smile!)
Front Office Procedures
· Immediately acknowledge the visitor as soon as they enter the front office. This should include standing up to greet them and ask how you can assist.
· Take time to ensure the visitor is going in the right direction by having them escorted to their destination when necessary.
Suggested Script:
“Hello! Welcome to School Name. My name is Ms. Smith, how can I help you?
I will be happy to assist with your request.”
(Assist the customer if you can, and if not, quickly let the appropriate person know. Follow through with the customer by asking if they need any other assistance.)
“Mr. Hill will be right down to see you.”
Telephone Procedures
· Make sure the phone is answered by the third ring if currently on a call, ask the caller to please hold and answer the other line.
· Answer the phone with your campus greeting in a polite and friendly voice.
· When transferring a call, make sure the receiver is available to take the call and address the issue.
Suggested Script:
“Good Afternoon! Thank you for calling School Name. My name is Ms. Smith, how can I help you?”
(Take name and number down in the event of a disconnection.)
Mr. Richards, I will transfer you to our counseling office Ms. Friendly will be able to help you.”
