The Copeland PTO Newsletter
President's Corner by Cree Sanford
It is hard to believe that we are down to the last few weeks of school! May is a very busy time at Copeland. I hope that you will be able to join us for some of the activities that are yet to come.
Our final Spirit Cart of the year will be Friday, May 11th! Kindergarten will also have Milk and Cookies with Mom on this date. On May 18th the 5th graders will have their annual pool party celebration! It’s always a fun event! (Please note the pool party is hosted by a group of 5th grade parents and is NOT a PTO/SCHOOL SPONSORED event.) On May 24th, the terrific Third graders will travel from country to country during our first Multi-Cultural Day Celebration. Come dressed in your favorite cultural attire and get a taste of life from around the world! This is sure to be a new Copeland tradition! On May 31st our outgoing 5th graders will enjoy a little fun in the sun with their 5th grade “Fun Day”. Fifth grade really knows how to leave with a bang!
We will have our End of Year Parties for all grade levels on June 1st. If you are interested in helping out with your child’s parties, please contact your homeroom coordinator.
I hope you will plan to join us for the Volunteer Appreciation Brunch on Friday, May 18th at 9:30 a.m. in the Copeland library. We appreciate all that you do and want you to be there. If you are an outgoing chairman, please make sure you take the time to meet with your replacement after the brunch. This is the perfect time to share information about your responsibilities. If you have a notebook with helpful information, please have that ready to pass on as well. If you are unable to attend, please leave your notebook in the PTO mailbox.
Speaking of chairman…we are still in need of several Chairman positions. If you are interested in heading up the Marquee, 5thgrade memory book for Shutterfly enthusiast, Clinic, or even a big one like heading up our Colonial Day, please contact me or any of our board members at one of the emails below!! We need great volunteers like you in order to help keep these programs running! If you have a friend and would like to co-chair one of these positions, that would work as well. We just need some help in these particular areas. Copeland is a phenomenal school because of the fabulous volunteers – like YOU!!!
