Principal Update
September 16th, 2022
What a great seven days of school! It has been so much fun to see the routines, procedures and new learning taking place since the start of our new school year. Many old friendships have been rekindled and countless new friendships have formed making Redtail Ridge an amazing place to be!
Please take time to read this newsletter. It contains a lot of important information and upcoming events. We thank you all for entrusting us with your child(ren) every day and for the support you provide our teachers and staff. I look forward to a great year together-"One Team, One Dream". Thank you for being a part of our TEAM!
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions and/or concerns.
With gratitude,
Mrs. Barb Yetzer, Principal
A Message from Mr. Brandell, Dean of Students
Attendance Matters!
Thank you for your efforts to ensure your child comes to school each day ready to learn. A strong partnership between families and schools is the best way for students to learn and have positive school experiences. Research shows that absenteeism in the first month of school is a strong predictor of poor attendance later in the school year. It has also been shown that regular attendance is directly tied to strong academic performance. Half of the students who miss 2-4 days in September will go on to miss nearly a month of school throughout the year.

extended breaks. There are forms to fill below. If you have any questions, please contact Jaime Toenies Semling, School Social Worker at 952.226.8057 or jtoeniessemling@plsas.org
WHAT DO YOU CELEBRATE?
If you haven't already done so, please fill out the form below to share which holidays and traditions your families celebrate so we can acknowledge and bring those into our school community. We are also going to be looking for families and students to help present or share recipes of food we can incorporate into our school lunch program for students to try based on your family's background/culture/heritage.
Below are links for each language our families to fill out. THANK YOU for your help with this!
Parent Drop-Off and Pick-Up
We are happy with how smoothly drop off and pick up are going. THANK YOU...students are in the building well before the 8:30 am bell!!
Just a couple reminders...When students get out of the vehicle in the morning (along the yellow line) and walk down the sidewalk, we are able to get the line moving so that no cars are waiting on 154th Street and the buses can get through. Remember-do not get out of the car-if you need to help or hug your child, please park in the lot (diagram attached below). We have staff outside to help them with the car doors if they are having a hard time getting out of the vehicle. Thank you for helping us keep our lines moving...it's been a great start to the school year.
New Staff Email - Starting October 20
