On behalf of the staff here at DTS, thank you for entrusting us with your wonderful children!

Child Assault Prevention Program

New Jersey Child Assault Prevention (NJ CAP) is a statewide community based prevention program. With a motto “All Children Deserve to be Safe, Strong and Free”, the CAP program seeks to reduce children’s vulnerability to abuse, neglect and bullying by providing comprehensive prevention workshops sponsored by the NJ Department of Children and Families.

Students in Grades 2, 4, and 6 at Delaware Township School will be participating in this program.

The program has three components:

  • a parent workshop on Monday, November 22 @6:30pm (virtual: Zoom info in the linked letter below).
  • a teacher/staff in service (will be held during our faculty meeting on 11/22)
  • Individual classroom workshops for children in grades 2, 4, & 6 on 11/29-11/30

Please click here for more detailed information.

**If for some reason you choose to deny your child permission to attend this workshop, you must notify his/her classroom teacher in writing by Wednesday, November 24, 2021.**

  • At the BOE meeting this past Tuesday, among other actions, the Board approved a resolution seeking project approval and a state subsidy for $1.2M in roof projects which would be undertaken next summer. In order to receive the aid, the projects must be approved by referendum which will tentatively take place in early March. The repairs are necessary for roof integrity and also to support the proposed solar panel project.
  • The Board also discussed the potential for an AV studio at DTS, which may be grant-funded, and approved an agreement with the Kingwood School District to share several child study team positions.
  • A summary of the District Strategic Planning session which was held on 11/15 can be found on the District website. The last session will be held on 12/8 – all are invited to participate in shaping the future for DTS.

The Green Team

What’s Going on with the Green Team

Planning on attending the Delaware Township holiday parade and tree lighting on December 4th? Before the parade (which is sponsored by the Delaware Township Recreation Commission) which starts at 5:00 at DTS, think about visiting the Learning Garden for some holiday photos! The garden and its pavilion will be sustainably decorated for the holidays and open for family photo shoots from 3:00-5:00, just prior to the start of the parade. We will have holiday beverages and treats, and members of the Green Team will be on hand to introduce themselves, and update visitors on the sustainability initiatives taking place at the school. Hope you’ll join us for all the day’s activities, starting in our festive outdoor garden!
