School from 2:10 - 3:00pm

Although the dismissal of our in-school learners takes place from 1:00 - 1:10, our actual school day does not end until 3:00. All students travel home and have lunch from 1:10 - 2:10 and then are expected to log in to their Google Classroom from 2:10 - 3:00. Our teachers are preparing synchronous work during this time which our students are expected to complete. Please help us remind our students of this work. Thank you.

Our annual PTA Fundraiser begins next week. As a school, we have only ONE fundraiser per year and it is run by Boosterthon. In years past, prior to COVID, our students would collect pledges for how many laps they could run around the OA Football Field. Booster combines fitness and character education and a WHOLE LOT OF POSITIVE ENERGY and helps schools raise money for books, technology, enrichment, etc This year, because of COVID, we will not be running laps at OA. Instead, our students will participate in a Dance-a-thon. This dance event will be held outside, with each student having a designated Box to dance in. It will be a lot of fun!

Boosterthon will kick off with a Virtual Pep Rally on Monday, November 2, from 3:00 - 3:20pm. Your child will have access to a Zoom Room or a YouTube link that can hold up to 1,000 participants at once. Each day, for two weeks, students will be able to connect to our Boosterthon leaders from 3:00 - 3:20pm to end their school day with some fitness, some words of encouragement and some positive vibes. We think this would be a good way to end a long day before signing off.

If you are able to do so, parents are asked to logon to and give what you can to our school. More information will be provided in the coming days. Your gift will be a pledge in honor of your 'dancer' during our dance-a-thon. We realize that some parents are not in a position to make donations at this time. It is ok. All of our students will get a tee-shirt and participate in our dance-a-thon regardless of whether or not they raised money for our school. Here is a link to get an idea of what we are bringing to RO.

Big picture
Welcome to a new world of education! In this fourth grade classroom, students are taking a picture of their math thinking on a whiteboard and importing that picture into their Google Slide Show to share with others. Not only are we learning how to create arrays and explain how they relate to multiplication, we are also learning the digital skills to share our thinking with a much larger audience instantaneously.
Big picture
We are also learning outside.. in our own backyard. We have moved our Sheep Pasture Programming to the Clifford Grant Reservation, behind RO. We are taking advantage of this beautiful space, a quick walk outside of our back door. These fifth graders are learning about the role decomposition plays in our local ecosystem.

Planning to Travel?

As the holiday season approaches, some of our families are planning to travel out of state. If you are traveling to a "red state", please be aware that your child will have to quarantine for 14 days upon return to Easton or have a PCR COVID test and show a negative result before returning for in-person learning. During that time, those students can participate in learning, from home, and be marked "virtually present" on those days.
