WIAA Conference Realignment Update
The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) is the organization that oversees high school sports. The WIAA Conference Realignment Task Force made a recommendation on February 9 to move East and West High Schools out of the North Shore Conference for implementation in 2025-2026. The task force also recommended the creation of a new conference made up of West Bend East, West Bend West, Grafton, Kewaskum, Plymouth, Port Washington, and Sheboygan South (for all sports except football). The football teams would continue to compete in the North Shore Conference.
Since last fall, the North Shore Conference has been working with the WIAA Realignment Task Force regarding possible realignment of the conference, but there was no warning of the potential for significant change when it was announced by the Task Force as a recommendation.
The WIAA Board of Control has the option to approve, reject or send the proposal back to the Realignment Task Force. We will continue to communicate with our student athletes, families, and coaches. Contact your athletic director with any questions.
