Online Resources to Enhance Learning

Task #1 - Create a student / parent account on Edmodo

  1. Please visit www.edmodo.com
  2. Sign up for a student account, please do not use your full name when creating a screen name. Any combination of your name is acceptable (Ex. John Doe = J_Doe or Jon_D)
  3. Enter the group code provided by Mr. Zagorski (email me if code is lost)
  4. Once you are signed up, you can add on a parent account using the "parent code" designated in the bottom left hand corner of your Edmodo home page. (How to sign up as a parent webpage: https://support.edmodo.com/home#forums/20888720-how-to-sign-up-as-a-parent)
  5. Please email me with any questions/ technical hiccups, etc.

Why Edmodo?

  • watch the demo @ www.edmodo.com
  • empowers the student to participate in learning outside of school
  • builds 21st century Web 2.0 skills
  • in the near future students will be required to answer state test questions using drop boxes and dialog boxes
  • several Cinnaminson High School teachers/courses embed Edmodo into their classrooom (applying it in 7th/8th grade will set students up for success in the future)


Task #2 Log in to our Holt McDougal online text

  1. After textbooks are handed out your student will receive a unique username and password
  2. Log in online @ http://my.hrw.com/
  3. Explore the Holt website, our book is 100% online, every page in the book is provided on the website.
  4. Extra practice, activities, video tutors are all available to help supplement each chapter.
  5. Please email me with any questions/ technical hiccups, etc.


Task #3 Explore zmath.edublogs.org

Zmath.edublogs.org is a math resource page that provides supplemental examples / videos / practice / games etc. The content is directly aligned to our class. If at anytime students need extra practice, further explanations etc. please do hesitate to contact me. I can post media to zmath to strengthen each identified math skill.
