What is the "Buzz" about Growth Mindset?

Many of our classroom teachers are working with students in their classrooms about the power of Growth Mindset. We may not have it YET, but with hard work and practice, we can get there!

WIN "What I Need"

At our school we focus on high quality Core curriculum for all students in reading, writing, math, science and social studies. We incorporate MTSS which stands for Multi-tier Systems of Support. This is a tiered system that we have in place to meet all learners where they are at academicallly during two WIN (What I Need) blocks a day. Our reading and math WIN blocks are each 25 minutes a day. We use universal screening data, along with grade level common formative assessments aligned with state standards to flexibly group students. During WIN times students go to different teachers and interventionists based on their specific need. We continue to collect data and progress monitor students to ensure they are getting the specific skill and instruction they need to grow them in their learning. Ask your child about what they are working on during their reading and math WIN times.

Look What's Coming Up:

Jacket Best!

We are all working to be our Jacket Best everyday at Heart of the Lakes. Everything we do revolves around being respectful, engaged, safe, and responsible. Take a moment to ask your child what they did to be their "Jacket Best" today at school!
