Happy 2023, Running Wolves!
Welcome to Quarter 3rd Quarter
I hope that you have had a restful, and fulfilling winter break. I encourage you all to both reflect on and celebrate all that has been accomplished because of your dedication. We are halfway through this school year and have many exciting things yet to come. Please continue to hold high expectations for behavior and academics in your classrooms. Each one of you have my complete respect. I am grateful to work with professionals that keep students' nest interests at heart, and work so well together as a team. Lets start 2023 strong!
Teachers please dedicate time in your day for the first couple of weeks back to re-establish procedures and expectations with your students. Before break, students were put on the wrong buses and even dropped at the wrong spots. In combination with our cold weather and street/sidewalk accessibility we need to have a strong presence and emphasis on safety during our daily dismissal. Please report to duty at your appointed location on time, and monitor closely for safety. For K/1 students, we will return to our bus tag system. Please click below to access duty expectations, the duty schedule, and the updated protocol for K/1 Bus tags. Please work with Kayla in the front office if you have any questions regarding bus tags.dismissal expectations with staff and students, return to our beginning-of-year student bus tags process, and emphasize monitoring and corrective feedback.
Routines, Routines, Routines
The week after any break feels a bit like the first week of school. Students come in tired and calm initially, then seem to of forgotten all that school is. Please take this week to review hallway, classroom, recess, and lunchroom expectations.

Entry Fob Distribution
Our front entry fob system is complete and our fobs have been delivered. Monday morning, Lindsay Kubosh from the ASD main office will come to assist in the distribution of fobs to teachers. All classroom teachers will turn in their exterior entry key at the time they receive their new fob. Those staff with master keys (principal, office staff, and BPO) need to hold on to those for the moment. The keys shop will be rekeying the building soon and will give new master keys to those staff at that time. The fob readers will be the main point of entry into the building and will be operational even when there is a power outage.

Master Schedule Changes
For the remainder of this school year, it was decided that Ms. Flanigan's 2nd grade class would benefit from a complete schedule overhaul. During the first semester, her class was blocked with the NBHD K/1 Team. Moving into the second semester it makes more sense for Ms. Flanigan's class to be blocked with the NBHD 2/3/4 Team. Ms. Flanigan, Ms. Gerrety, and Mrs. Nicholson have already been using the Walk to Math model for 2nd and 3rd graders and it makes more sense for Ms. Flanigan's 2nd graders to be blocked with the 2/3/4 graders for Walk to WIN block as well.
Specialists and staff that were affected by this change have already been notified. Please click below to access the most up-to-date version of the RP 22-23 DRAFT Master Schedule.

i-Ready Winter Diagnostic
The Diagnostic window for i-Ready will open the day we return from Winter Break (January 9, 2023). This means students will only see the Diagnostic when they log in to i-Ready during the school day beginning January 9. The diagnostic does not have to be done on this day, however make sure students do not begin the diagnostic until teachers are ready for them to do so.
Please help communicate this information to any substitutes as we come back from break, as emergency sub plans may have i-Ready already included.
The Learning Games will be available for students during the school day if they have not yet completed their Diagnostic. Students will have access to Learning Games and Interactive Practice after the school day during the Diagnostic window.
