Orana Catholic Primary School

Week 2, Term 1, 2020

O God,

guide our school

in the way of truth and goodness.

Help us to live in such a way

as to bring honour to ourselves,

our family and our school.

Jesus, Mary and Joseph pray for us.

Parent/Carer Information Sessions

Thank you to the families who attended this week's information sessions. It was wonderful to see so many in attendance to learn first hand what your child/ren will be learning in their respective classes this year. I would like to acknowledge the staff for their efforts in preparing for and presenting on the evening, they did an amazing job!

Staff Commissioning Mass

Tomorrow night we are commissioning all staff of our School at the first Community Mass at 6.30 pm at Sts John and Paul in Willetton. As it's very early in the new school year and the choir is only just underway we are not asking for the choir to attend however, we would love to see as many families as possible at our mass. Please be aware that the church carpark is still a work in progress so your best option for parking is at the high school across the road.

From Mrs Warburton

“Failure” is only a word – why not try these instead? Growing through mistakes, taking appropriate risks, making appropriate choices and learning from a less than perfect outcome. Read more here

Love is In the Air!

Congratulations to Miss Dayana Nottage and Mr Sam Lombardo on their engagement last weekend. We wish them a lifetime of happiness together.

I had to laugh, when on my way back from assembly this morning I overheard two little girls excitedly discussing how Miss Nottage was going to be Mrs Nottage now!

Calling all ex-students and families of Orana

It is time to spread the news - share through social media platforms - the announcement that Orana is turning 40! The details for the celebration are:

Orana Reunion, Saturday 28 March. Starting at 1.00pm, show at 2pm, closes at 4pm. There will be music, food trucks, photo booth, planting and lots more fun.

Would love our current parents who were here as students to help us bring as many together as possible for our big day.

The Week that Was!

Save our P & F!

Welcome Back!!

For those of you that don’t know, the P&F stands for Parents & Friends. This group organises events, activities and workshops for the direct benefit of not only students but their families as well. Everything the P&F does is for the benefit of the school community. It relies entirely on volunteers for events, committees, Class Representatives and P&F Executive roles.

The School is currently in need of a P&F President to join the Executive Committee so that P&F meetings can officially take place and planning can get underway for the year’s events and projects. If we don’t get more hands put up, the fantastic events and activities that we and our children have enjoyed the past few years will cease to take place. This so far has resulted in the cancellation of our Sundowner event.

Other activities that are at risk if action isn’t taken soon are: the Mothers Day Stall, Fathers Day Breakfast, Colour Fun Run and Disco!

The sad news is that we are severely lacking volunteers across the board. Anyone can join and you can contribute as much or as little as you like. Many hands make light work!

If you are not sure what is involved or want to know more please contact us using the links below.

It’s your kids. It’s your school. It’s your P&F.
