"Love First, Last, & Always"

This past week we were blessed to experience Adoration. Adoration is a very powerful and ancient form of prayer. The root of the word is "adore". Essentially, Adoration is an opportunity for us to show our deep love for Jesus.

What sets Adoration apart from other forms of prayer is that Jesus is present with us in a consecrated host. We are able to pray with Jesus before us, who is truly present in the Eucharist.

Following our school mass this past Monday with Father Jim, we placed a consecrated host, the Body of Christ, inside a beautiful gold Monstrance. Jesus was truly present! Classes participated prayerfully in Adoration, entering into Jesus’ presence in our Chapel.

Students were led through a series of prayers; Adoration prayer, Confession prayer ("I'm sorry for ... Please forgive me"), Thanksgiving Prayer, and a Supplication prayer (our prayers for others). Quiet time in prayer and reflection was embraced by our students. This experience drew us closer to Jesus and was a beautiful way to begin our Lenten journey.

CASINO VOLUNTEERS – BUCPS NEEDS YOUR HELP!

BUCPS is actively looking for volunteers for our upcoming casino in Camrose, on Monday March 23, and Tuesday March 24.

This casino provides much needed funding for the entire Sherwood Park Ukrainian Bilingual program, helping support each school and enhancing the cultural education of all students (Jean Vanier, St. Theresa's, and ABJ).

For this event to be successful and for the program to receive this funding, it is entirely dependent on volunteer support.

*** We are looking for 4 volunteers for each day (8 total). ***

Please contact Jennifer Lychak at bucpssecretary@gmail.com ASAP if you are available to help, and let me know which day works best for you.

Thank you in advance for your support!

LITTLE ORCHARD SADOCHOK PRESCHOOL - REGISTER NOW!

We are now accepting registrations for the 2020/2021 school year! We are an English based preschool program with some Ukrainian fun! Program is for 4 year old's and will be based out Jean Vanier Catholic School in Sherwood Park. To obtain registration forms or if you have any questions, please email either bucpssecretary@gmail.com or little.orchard.sadochok@gmail.com.

*** PLEASE NOTE: The Little Orchard Sadochok Preschool has always ran with a volunteer board, typically comprised of a President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. At a minimum, we require individuals to step up into the President and Treasurer roles - without these integral positions filled, we will be unable to move forward and run the program for the 2020/2021 school year. Fortunately we have had someone come forward to take on the Treasurer role (thank you!), but we are still actively seeking a President for the preschool. Please reach out to your Executive if you have any questions or wish to help. ***
