What Did We Learn This Week?

Language Arts

Our spelling rule this week was drop the -e before adding -ing or -ed. We continued on with our next CARS comprehension test and are forging ahead with our cursive. We love writing in cursive! This week we also worked on our last vocabulary unit! Our final vocabulary test will be on Tuesday, May 10. In grammar we worked on writing with adjectives. We all have officially finished writing our autobiographies!! They are bound and we have started to add in our pictures! We are so proud of how hard we have worked on these books!

We kicked off our unit on fractions with a munchy math activity where we learned about equal parts of a whole with CANDY (yum!). We then learned about the numerator and denominator, worked on writing fractions, and did another fun munchy math fraction activity with skittles! We ended the week with a fraction pizza art activity!

We finished our camouflage animal art! They are hanging outside our classroom! Look and see if you can fine our hidden animal! This week we also started to learn about Vertebrates (animals with a backbone) and learned important facts about fish, mammals, birds, and amphibians.

Dear 2nd grade parents,

יוֹם הָעַצְמָאוּת (YOM HA-AH-TZMAUT) = Israel’s Independence Day was our main topic this week.

The excitement is in the air as we are finishing the last pages in our “ARIOT KOTEV” book.

We just finished learning all the cursive letters in the Hebrew alphabet. MAZAL-TOV!

Please use the following link to practice and review all the cursive Hebrew letters we know:
