October Leadership Luncheon - Proactive Leaders
1st Quarter Report Cards
Fall Family Conferences
If you are having trouble viewing your child's report card today, plan to arrive earlier or stay a little later. We will have staff members with the computers in the entryway to assist parents with finding their child's report card on the computer or on the new app for phones!
New Infinite Campus Apps for Parents and Students
Infinite Campus has released two brand new apps to connect Park Hill families with what’s going on in the classroom. These free apps, called Campus Parent and Campus Student, are designed to give parents and students real-time access to grades, attendance information, assignments, and more. The easy-to-use design displays what is currently happening in the classroom so you can understand, monitor, and participate in the educational process.
They are available for download from both Google Play and the Apple Store. If you already have the current Campus Portal app for parents, it will no longer be supported; make sure to download the new Campus Parent so you don’t miss anything.
Don’t forget to enable push notifications for instant updates! Just download the app, tap the user icon in the top right, and select Settings > Notification Settings.

Habit of the Month - Be Proactive
This month your child(ren) will be learning about Habit 1: Be Proactive.
Please read about this habit and share this habit at home.
Here is a video about the habit at home: Habit 1 @ Home Video
Be Proactive at Home: I am a responsible person. I take initiative. I choose my actions, attitudes, and moods. I do not blame others for my wrong actions. I do the right thing without being asked, even when no one is looking.
Activity Ideas
1) If you have a child that is constantly complaining of being bored, have them brainstorm ways that they could do something nice for someone else, either a neighbor, friend, or family member.
2) Circle of Control: Take some sidewalk chalk and go outside and draw two circles within each other big enough to stand in. The middle one is the circle of control. Give your kids examples of different things they can control (homework) and other things they can’t (weather). Have them move in and out of the circle depending on the scenario.
3) Role-play: Proactive vs. Reactive. Demonstrate for your kids how to deal with a situation proactively vs. reactively.
Redistricting Update
They shared opinions about improving the maps as well as about improving the overall process, and then they worked with their table groups to develop additional middle-school map scenarios that incorporated the best ideas from the previous round. Click here for a more detailed redistricting update.
Parent/Guardian Survey - 99 responses so far!
So far, 8 people have taken the Parent/Guardian Survey! Thank you for your participation! If you haven't taken the survey yet, please do so prior to October 26th.
You should have received an invitation to participate in our annual Park Hill Parent/Guardian survey, which will be open until Oct. 26. The email from Panorama will have a unique link to access your survey. Panorama is a third-party administrator that keeps all of the data from our surveys strictly confidential.
If you do not have the email with the survey line, this link will take you to our school's survey. The Line Creek access code is: 7672263090.
We will share the results with the public after the survey window closes. Thank you in advance for completing your parent/guardian survey as we use the results to monitor our strategic measures and continuously improve Park Hill.
If you have any questions, please email Dr. Mike Kimbrel.
Park Hill Stars
The Park Hill Star recognition program was started in 2015 to celebrate support staff and teachers whose work is especially noteworthy.
The following is an overview of the Park Hill Star Program:
Our employees are the reason we are so successful here in the Park Hill School District, and we would like to recognize them for all they do for our students.
That is why we present the Park Hill Star award once a month to a pre-K or elementary teacher, a secondary teacher and a support employee.
Nominations are not being accepted at this time, but opportunities will re-open at the beginning of the 2018-19 school year. Thanks to everyone who took the time to nominate a Park Hill Star this year!
