Thinking about Summer...
2018 Summer Camp Guide
For the past several years, Lago Vista ISD has put together a list of various summer learning opportunities in the Austin area that may be helpful to Lago Vista ISD parents and students who are looking for summer fun and learning options. This year, we are pleased to announce that we have partnered with Live Grow Play Austin for our 2018 Summer Camp Guide. As a result of this partnership, this year's summer camp guide is fully searchable by interest, location, date, price, etc.

ATTENDANCE MATTERS
The vast majority of our students with excessive absences fail to pass their classes. Students need to be at school everyday.
Our school-wide attendance goal for this year is 98%. Our state funding is based on the percentage of students at school at 10:15 am every day. Higher attendance rate = more money for resources for your student.
For students who miss school, here is some very important attendance information:
- 3 or more unexcused absences in a 4 week period - warning letter sent home, phone conference with at-risk coordinator and attendance improvement plan.
- 5 or more unexcused absences in a 6-week period - warning letter sent home, phone conference with administrator, attendance behavior plan reviewed.
- 7 or more unexcused absences in an 8-week period - warning letter sent home and Behavior Intervention Plan meeting called with the parents, student, and assistant principal.
- 10 or more unexcused absences in a 6 month period - truancy charges are filed. Parent, student and school administrator will be summoned to appear in truancy court.
There is also a 90% attendance law that states that students have to attend 90% of their classes in a year to receive credit and be promoted to the next grade. You can't miss more that 9 days in a semester or more that 17 days for the year.
Our campus goal is to reach 98% attendance each day.
Thanks for your support!
