K-2 Team Newsletter
July 29, 2019
Thank you everyone that came out for our first K-2 Team Builder Event! It was such a joy to see everyone mixing and mingling with friends and family. We hope you all thoroughly enjoyed the food and fellowship and are looking forward to the next team event. This year we will take turns planning events and do something each quarter so that means each grade level will sponsor the planning portion (including Related Arts and SPED). Yay! We will reach out to GLLs with the dates so you all can plan accordingly.
Our next event is a K-8 Happy Hour on Aug. 9th from 4:15-5:15 pm at Village Pub located at 1308 McGavock Pk, Nashville, TN 37216 planned by the K-8 Admin Team and appetizers are on us…hope to see you there!
The PD Agenda is here for next week. We are very excited to have our Kinder scholars in the building on Wednesday and Thursday. You can find the Kinder Culture Camp staff support doc here and we'll go over details the day before. The make-up session for new staff hires that went to the MNPS training will be on Monday, July 29th at 12:30 in SKIDMORE. The plan for the August 2nd PD day is on the way, we just need to finalize the time of two sessions.
This app is new for me too so wanted to find a video that can explain the very basic question of…Dr. P How Do We Use SLACK? Check out this video --> here
- We have one workspace East End Prep (K-2) so you can just jump to start at 8:10 to find some useful tools to make it an awesome tool for your teams
- We will not use all the integration tools yet but wanted you to see the potential of this app #babysteps

Crystalline will be cycling through each grade level for monthly culture data dives so she is not assigned to any grade level. Please plan to stay for team meetings starting the week of Aug. 12th and we should all be using the grade level team agenda doc provided.

Expectations Make Us G.R.E.A.T.
As stated on Friday, it is very important that we respect the school-wide norm of "every minute matters" so we need to be on time for everything because it directly links to our core value of RESPECT. If we want our scholars to live out the core values, we must also hold ourselves to the same expectations. As your principal, I urge every staff member to be brave and hold crucial conversations with your fellow teammates if you notice someone not holding true to our norms or core values. Admin will not be in every single meeting nor always aware of everyone's timeliness so we are asking that everyone takes part in creating our H.O.T. school team (Humble Open Transparent). Remember we are all in this together! #teamworkmakesthedreamwork
