(REPEAT)District Message--Fence Installation Project Information Night (Tuesday, 5/23)
Dear Oak Hills Families,
The Beaverton School District’s Facilities Department will be installing a new fence along the rear perimeter of the school this summer. The purpose of this fencing project is to enhance the security of the school grounds while school is in session. Gates will be installed at the points where existing pathways enter the school site. These gates will be locked by school staff each morning and then unlocked in the afternoon just before school is dismissed. The gates will remain open during non-school hours.
If you have any questions about the fencing project, please contact Kurt Meeuwsen, Construction Project Manager, at kurt_meeuwsen@beaverton.k12.or.us.
Or attend an information meeting tomorrow, May 23rd at 6:30 p.m. at the Oak Hills Gym. Spanish interpreter and headsets will be available.
Thank you for helping us prioritize the safety of our students and staff.

Overdue Library Books
We have over 200 overdue library books and some books missing from our shelves. Please look around your home for any books with Oak Hills Barcode labels and have your child return them. Overdue library notices are sent out to student and parent emails weekly. The emails contain important information. Please check your spam box to make sure you are getting the emails. If you would like to know what your child has checked out, follow the slide deck below on the Library Websit to get into your child’s library account. If you have any questions, feel free to email Ms. Larsen. Thank you for your help and support!
OBOB
The OBOB Book List for 2024 is now out! Now is a good time to have your child read the book for enjoyment or read it together as a family or listen to an audio book as a family! Rereading the books this fall will help students prepare for battles next January. We are not creating OBOB teams until this Fall.

PTO News
THANK YOU!
Thank you to all those who came out to support Otterfest! It was such a great turnout and so much fun. And we learned some things to make it even better for next year! A special thank you to those who helped plan events and activities and those who volunteered in various ways. It is so wonderful to see the community come together to make the elementary school experience fun and memorable for our children.
On The Move
We still have a couple volunteer slots available for Thursday. Since there will be no school on Friday, Thursday will be a "double day" which means that running/walking 1 lap will count for 2! Hopefully that will be extra motivation to keep the kids running. Several teachers have mentioned how much more focused and calm the kids are on days when they are able to run with OTM.
We were close to having to cancel a session last week because of low volunteers. We would hate to have to do that. We really do need 4 (or more!) volunteers per shift so if you can, please sign up on the spreadsheet.
And just by way of FYI, the kids have an opportunity to earn a "toe token" for their keychain at every 3 miles and a prize at every 5 miles. The top 10 runners in each grade level will be awarded a special prize the last week of school. Whether they run a little or a lot, it is a fun way to stay active and enjoy this weather!
Art Night
Please see the flyer! We have some really fun things planned for that evening :)
There is a work party tonight at 7pm in the school library to help prepare for it - please join if you can! Volunteers to help set up or clean up on June 6th would be much appreciated.
Next PTO Meeting - BUDGET MEETING
Next PTO Meeting - BUDGET MEETING
Please join us and for our next PTO meeting: June 14th at 7pm in the school gym. If you would like to join us via zoom it will be audio only. This is the meeting where we decide the budget for next year so if you would like to have a say in our events and activities and how we spend PTO money, please join! We will also vote on new board members. There are still board positions available for next year. We would love to have new faces and fresh ideas so if you or someone you know is interested at all, we can give you more info. Contact pto@oakhillspto.org
