BADGES
Please make sure that your child’s transportation badge is attached to his/her backpack and that your child brings his/her backpack to school each day. This is especially important for bus riders. Thank you!
ZPass Plus
Safety is the top priority within our commitment to providing safe and efficient transportation to over 75,000 students every day. A crucial part of this service is knowing when and where each child gets on and off the school bus. ZPass allows parents to receive notifications when their child enters and exits the school bus.
How ZPass Works
Students place their ZPass Multipurpose Card in front of the card reader as they enter and exit the school bus.
The card reader emits an audible beep confirming the card was read.
The time, date and location of where the student gets on and off the bus are immediately recorded to a secure database, accessible only by transportation and school officials.
Parents can sign up for instant notifications, via push or cell phone text messaging and/or email.
Parents can sign up for notifications by going to https://www.zpassplus.com/. ZPass + app is available at Google Play and the App Store.
Badge replacement fees: $3.00 for bus badge and $1.00 for lanyard.
D.A.W.G. = Dogs Assisting Wounded G.I.'s
Each year Millsap chooses a foundation to support in honor of all the courageous Veterans who served our country.
This year for our Veterans Day service project we have chosen the “D.A.W.G.” Foundation.
This organization trains both service and companion dogs for Veterans who are wounded or battling with P.T.S.D. This year’s fundraiser campaign is called “Dimes for D.A.W.G.”.
We will be collecting coins to support the needs of this organization until this Friday, October 19th. Grade level collection jars will be located in the school library so the students can see how well each grade is doing.
Any donation is greatly appreciated. Thank you for helping us continue this wonderful tradition and supporting our Veterans.

We need lots of parent volunteers to help out with ribbon writing, set up/clean up, judging, and scorekeeping! Parents looking to volunteer should reach out to Rosario Grazziani (rosario.grazziani@gmail.com) and Jennifer Elizondo (jennifer_elizondo0518@yahoo.com) ASAP!
Interested in leading a class in a Science Resource Center (SRC) presentation, which helps teach the kids about nature and offers “hands-on” interaction with animals?

No Place for Hate
This year we will continue our participation as a No Place for Hate school. I know it has been mentioned before, but I wanted to take some time to explain a bit.
No Place for Hate helps to create and sustain inclusive school environments where all students feel valued and have the opportunity to succeed by promoting respect for individual differences while challenging bigotry and prejudice.
We kicked off the year with the No Place for Hate Pledge better known as the Resolution of Respect last week on October 11th. This Friday, October 19th, we will do our first activity entitled 'Allies United Against Bullies' in the classroom.

Watch D.O.G.S. Signup Information
We had our first Watch DOGS in the building this week and it was a huge success! Thank you so much to all the Dads who have already signed up to volunteer at Millsap this year.
At this time, there are still dates available, so if you would like to sign up for a second day, please call Jennifer Marasek at 281-517-2913. Thank you for serving in our school!
PARENTS RIGHT TO KNOW
As a parent of a student at a campus receiving Title I funds, federal law allows you to ask for information about the certification, college major, and advanced degrees of your child’s teacher(s). You also have the right to request information about the qualifications of a teacher aide or paraprofessional providing direct services to your child. If you would like to receive this information, you may contact the Cypress-Fairbanks I.S.D. Human Resources Department at 281-897-4099.
