Points of Pride
The rest of these brought tears to my eyes:
I'm proud of all 2nd and 3rd graders for completing their first stop-motion film!--Craig Whalen
I know she's my wife and I'm biased, but all I've heard all week from the kids is how amazing Sara's hockey unit was these past two weeks in PE. Tons of variety and creativity that left all skill levels happy and having fun. No idea where she comes up with this stuff, but the kids are always excited to turn the corner and see what is set up for them. ---Greg
I would like to acknowledge Cathy Hammack and Kathy Hunt from JCPRD for always supporting our students and staff! During Kindergarten Roundup they graciously volunteered to open the south activity center and played with all the kids that attended so that their parents could focus on the information given to them. It made our jobs so much easier!--Theresa Kasparek
Courtney did an awesome job preparing our presentation for Kindergarten Round Up.--Lea Hammond
Thanks Amanda M. for always being positive and having a smile on your face. I appreciate the sunshine your bring to our building!---Megan Clark
Our wonderful kitchen staff.--Linda Biehl
I want to give a shout out to all of the paras for their awesome service in my classroom! I really appreciate all of their help! --Tricia Scott
Shout out to all the KDG teachers, Julie, Kelley, Jill, and Theresa for all their hard work on KDG parent night! ---Amanda McGlasson
A big THANK YOU to Abby Hundley and Jill Ussery for helping serve our kiddos during their lunch periods. ---Linda Plouvier
I think a point of pride is that office staff, nurse Amanda and admin did a great job of putting on kindergarten roundup. It went smooth.---Courtney Arnote
I want to appreciate all that Tricia does for our novice KDG teachers! She has spent countless hours each week helping them plan and prepare for lessons and events. Thanks for all you do, Mrs. Scott!---Sabrina Casper
I would like to give a shout out to the third grade team for coming together to take care of some kiddos with extreme needs. Alyssa Judd
I am very thankful for the lunchroom staff for putting extra measures in place to lessen the spread of germs.---Abby Hundley
Mindy is amazing and started a shared document for long distance learning opportunities for our team the same day we had discussed it.---Abby Hundley
I am also extremely grateful for all of Jill U’s help in getting things ready for the Fishbowl auction and the rest of the office staff for being willing to help out with ticket sales when we come back from break. ---Abby Hundley
I also want to give a shout out to Jill H. for keeping my kids entertained with the clay scraps after school one day. They were very excited!---Abby Hundley
I’d like to recognize Lori Schierts for all of her effort working with students and staff. She has been all over this building the last several weeks doing the best she can to meet needs. She doesn’t always have the answers but she is trying and she is doing it with beautiful grace and loving kindness. She doesn’t let the overwhelming feelings impact her time with kids and never lets it show when talking with staff. I hope our entire building knows that she is working so hard, doing the best she can, and has made some real sacrifices to keep on keeping on. I’m not sure she’s taken a plan time all year, she eats her duty free lunch with kids and NEVER breaths a heavy sigh when getting interrupted as she’s composing an email to support someone in need. If you haven’t heard from her, it’s not from lack of trying. She is making a difference in the most needy of our students right now and our grace is necessary. We are beyond blessed thanks to this very special teacher, counselor and support system. All the love to Lori!---Dandra Arter

Making a Difference
Dear DTA Members,
The school district, in partnership with the USD 232 Education Foundation, is launching a staff recognition program called Making a Difference. This award, underwritten by Great American Bank in De Soto, is designed to honor and recognize those staff members at USD 232 who are truly “making a difference in the lives of young people” by continually exceeding job expectations for the students, families, and other employees in our district.
DTA is very excited about this recognition program and is encouraging all members to participate. It costs nothing, doesn’t require additional work on behalf of the winner and EVERY staff member in USD232 is eligible. J If you’re willing to give the few minutes it takes to nominate another staff member, please click the link below to be directed to the nomination form. Nominations for this month are due on Sunday, March 1.
To each of you for your service to kids and USD232, thank you!
Gratefully,
~DTA Leadership
