Important Announcements
Kindergarten/First Grade Registration - NOW OPEN
Do you have a child who will be 5 years old on or before August 31, 2016? If so, Central Registration is open for families who need to enroll their children for next school year. Please click HERE for information on how to register your child for kindergarten. If you know of any neighbors or friends who have students who will be age 5 on or before August 31, 2016, please remind them to register their child.
The sooner the students are registered, the more effective we can be with enrollment projections and number of sections for next year. It could be the difference between two- or three-sections for a grade level!
Dropping Temperatures and Recess
With the coming of winter - preparations for the colder temperatures will be necessary - and it is important for all parents to review dress expectations with your children as they prepare for each day of school. Throughout the winter months, all students will participate in recess following lunch.
Recess location (inside or outside) is determined based upon the current temperature, the windchill effect, AND the conditions of our fields. The school will follow District/Weather.com recommendations. Students MUST be prepared to spend their recess outside and should be dressed appropriately for every condition. The final decision to go outside or not will be made prior to each grade-level recess time.
We strongly recommend that students wear appropriate cold-weather clothing: jackets, pants, hats, mittens, etc. - and do not wear shorts. Students determined as "not being prepared" for the current outdoor conditions may risk missing their recess time for safety precautions.
Thank you for your cooperation!
NAESP: Report To Parents - Setting Goals
"The middle of the school year is a great time for families to check in with students on goals. Setting academic and personal goals helps motivate, energize, and focus students, and it is a valuable skill that will benefit learners throughout their lives. Parents can help students set and achieve these goals."

Book Dedications - Reading in the New Year!
Dedicating a book makes a great gift that will last for years to come! Your book dedication can celebrate a birthday or holiday, a special achievement, a “thank you” gift for a teacher or honor someone special while helping to support the Buckingham Library.
What happens when you dedicate a book?
- A personalized bookplate is permanently placed in the book.
- The book is presented to your child, teacher or the individual being honored during library time.
- The honoree is the first to check the book out from the library.
- The dedication will be acknowledged on the website and bulletin board outside the library.
Book Dedications are a gift to EVERY student at Buckingham!
If you are interested in a gift that keeps on giving, find the Book Dedication form. Please Click Here for a Book Dedication Order Form.

3rd Grade Talent Show
6th Grade Skype - Connecting with CB
In sixth grade the students learn about the circulatory system, so Mrs. Stone's students dissected a sheep's heart for us. It definitely peaked the students' interest! The high school students shared some amazing heart facts and were able to point out the real parts of a heart, which we compared to a diagram in the sixth grade reference book
