Intro/Welcome (What's a Smore?)
Planning Update for RE-opening Chichester Central School From Superintendent Peter Warburton
Hope, Certainty and Communication
For this update, I want to share the work of the NH Department of Education STRRT group that has released draft recommendations and Sub-recommendations for re-opening schools.
STRRT is an acronym for School Transition Re-opening and Redesign Task Force.
Here are the Draft Recommendations and a link that will provide sub-recommendations, data from the state-wide survey that went out to NH citizens in June, and minutes and recordings of the STRRT meetings:
Establish School District Management and Communications
Determine Health Protocols
Prepare Physical School Environment
Support Student, Family and Educator Wellness
Establish Hybrid Capacity
Review Transportation Policies and Protocols
Plan for School Delivery
Planning for Instruction
Professional Development Considerations
Technology Considerations for Dynamic Learning Environment
The first action I will take this week is to meet with our SAU-wide Leadership Team to review and discuss the recommendations, and to continue to plan for three scenarios for the fall: return to school, return to remote learning, or create a draft hybrid model for instruction using in-school and remote learning simultaneously.
I will also update our School Board at their next meeting on Wednesday, July 15th.
At this time, I want to be clear that no decision has been made. My next newsletter update is scheduled for July 22nd, but I will be in touch sooner if necessary.
Have a safe summer break. Please email me pwarburton@sau53.org if you have any questions in the meantime.
Peter
