Please Stop Laughing at Me

Summary
Please Stop Laughing at Me is about a girl who is always being bullied. She switched schools to get a fresh start and immediately started to fit in, until she went to a party and everyone was playing not so appropriate games for a 6th grader and she called her mom to come pick her up. after she told her mom why she wanted to go her mom told the mother in charge and she ended up telling the parents of the kids who were there and all of the kids got in a lot of trouble and for that they started to bully her.
Character Analysis
Jodee Blanco was a young girl in 6th grade who was often bullied and had only one friend who did not go to her school. Jodee switched schools so that she would be with her friend but she was really scared because of how much she was bullied. her first day she made a bunch of friends and soon became very popular, until she went to a party and everyone was playing a game that made her very uncomfortable and she called her mom to come pick her up. after that she was bullied again.
Conflict/Resolution
Jodee faced character vs character conflict. Jodee faced character vs character conflict because her classmates were the ones picking on her, making her feel bad and eventually ended up physical messing with her.
Theme
The theme of this book is bullying. The theme is bullying because Jodee was always bullied, until she switched schools. But even then she ended up getting bullied for calling her mom to take her home from a party even though it was the right thing to do.
Book Review
I think this book is a good way to show kids how bad bullying will affect someone. Even after Jodee got out of the school and away from all the kids she remembered everything anyone had said or done. She was terrified to go back to her high school reunion because of what her classmates have said in the past and done in the past.
