Welcome Message
Dear Families,
We are so excited to welcome our incoming 6th grade students to Edgewood next year! You will be glad to know that we are settled back into our newly renovated building and so excited that our newest group will be able to enjoy the next three years in this state of the art building optimized for student learning!
The information below contains action items for parents to read thoroughly. Some content is strictly informational and some list due dates. Please read carefully.
Course Selection for Band, Orchestra, Chorus, and World Language - Please submit the required world language requests and optional band, orchestra and chorus requests through Infinite Campus by following the directions here. We are asking for these requests to be completed by Friday, May 26th. If your child has an IEP with Resource for next school year, you are not required to submit a world language course request.

We are gearing up to host our incoming 6th graders at Edgewood on Monday May 22nd. Our elementary feeder schools will be coming over during the school day for a short meet-and-greet, orientation, and Q&A. We hope that this will help give them a taste of what to expect for next year and also a chance to see the new school!
In case you are not already aware, Principal Candela will be moving over to Indian Trail next year. Mr. Louis Kotvis (current associate principal) will start as Edgewood Principal, effective July 1st, 2023. Joining him will be three associate principals: Arielle Gleicher (current associate principal), Jaclyn Wagner, and Keri Malow-Williams.
A few things to have on your radar:
- Typically, formal communication for the 23-24 school year will start in early August.
- Student schedules are to be released in early August.
- We will set up some dates prior to the first day of school for students to walk their schedule and set up their lockers. This is optional, and time will still be provided for those that are unable to make it
- More transition information for students including how "middle school works" will be shared in August as well
Transitioning to middle school an exciting time have. It can also cause a bit of anxiety. Please know that at this point we have transitioned our incoming 6th grade students to Edgewood in every way imaginable. The transition to middle school will go smoothly. Students are going to have the best time here and we can't wait to meet you all.
All the best,
EW Administrative Team
