Science with Ms. Hoyle
Next week student will learn the characteristics of the inner and outer planets.
Please review the attached document about the health standards changing.
Math with Mrs. Bange
Students will solve real world percent problems this week. Problems will involve simple interest, figuring tax, gratuity, commission, and discount.
On Monday and Tuesday, students will have a short video to watch and a few practice problems to complete each day.
Wednesday and Thursday, students will complete their graded assignment for the week, which requires students to compute a total bill by picking items to purchase and finding the rate after discounts and taxes.
The first of two quizzes for the nine weeks will be given on Friday. This quiz will be over percents.
Students should try their best to attend live sessions for clarity and understanding. Students are encouraged to email, message, or sign up for office hours if they need help.
Language Arts with Ms. Griem
Language Arts this week will be completing our close read of the article “Total Control in North Korea”. We are going to continue to focus on our Essential Question: What are the positives and negatives of challenging the status quo? Please remind your students to be checking grades, as they will be updated daily as students turn in work. Remember to stay positive!
World Geography with Mr. Akagi
Next week in World Geography, we are starting our new unit on Sub-Saharan Africa. This is all of Africa below the Sahara Desert. We will spend 2 and a ½ weeks here. Starting this week, we’re going to examine some maps from the region, and see what they can tell us. Additionally, we’ll examine some political cartoons, to see what images and satire can tell us about a place.
