School Year 2021-2022
A Year to Explore the Impossible!
Dear Maple Shade families,
I am eager and excited to begin my third year as the Principal of Ralph J Steinhauer Elementary School. As I enter my seventeenth year in education, I want to first welcome all of our new 5th grade families and welcome back all of our returning 6th grade families. Furthermore, if you are a new family to the Maple Shade School District, WELCOME, I look forward to meeting your child and family.
As I reflect on the last two years of my principalship, I want to take this opportunity to thank all of the returning families for your patience, grace, and flexibility throughout the adversity that we have all experienced. As the principal of RJS, father to a rising 5th and 7th grader and husband to a first grade teacher, I fully understand the stresses and uncertainty we have all experienced. Each one of us has a unique story to share about the last two years and as a school community we recognize and are ready to support all children and their families as we enter the 2021-2022 school year.
I believe in focusing on the whole student and creating a respectful, responsible environment where all students are happy, healthy and have the ability to maximize their daily learning potential. “Visible Learning,” and “Relationships,” are my two themes for this school year. You will see these themes reflected in my communications, our events, your child’s classroom experience, etc. Although the last two school years have been unique, they have also opened up opportunities to continue to think outside the box and create authentic learning experiences and environments for our students. Specifically, this upcoming school year’s schedule will showcase a student activity period (activities selected using a student survey) and a brand new Learning Lab built in our library.
In closing, I am grateful to have the opportunity to continue to work with our students at Ralph J Steinhauer School. Please reach out to me at firstname.lastname@example.org or 856-779-7323 at any time with any questions. Please enjoy the rest of your summer with your family. I will see you in September!
It is a great day to be a Wildcat!

Meet my family....
Mrs. Zagorski is entering her 19th year in education, she currently teaches first grade. She loves to shop and go to the beach!
Luke is going into 7th grade and Benjamin is heading into 5th. These two help me continue to understand our students at Steinhauer! Both boys love all things soccer!
Last but not least is Lola! Lola is a 90 pound Newfoundland Poodle mix. She loves our couches even though she is not allowed on them!?!?!
