Ms. Doggett's Class Newsletter

March

Hello Parents,

We are wrapping up the last couple of weeks in the 3rd Quarter. I can't believe the 4th Quarter is right around the corner, where has the time gone?

The next week and a half, leading up to Spring Break, are very busy! Please make sure to check out "Upcoming Dates" to see what's going on.

Have a wonderful week,

Ms. Doggett

Science

For the past two weeks, students have been learning about forces and motion. Students learned how to measure motion and what causes a force. We had the opportunity to watch several NBC Learn videos, which showed us how forces and motion impact sports. We even learned how friction effects the Olympic sport curling.

Currently, we are learning how to read motion graphs. Students are learning what acceleration and deceleration looks like on a graph, and what motion at rest looks like.

Students have continued to watch a daily weather forecast and track the weather using a weather chart. I encourage watching the weather with your child and asking them what they're observing in class.

Our next unit is Body Systems.

Dancing Classrooms

Dancing Classrooms has been one of the coolest experiences I've ever been apart of! Students are learning how to dance several dances including the Rumba, Tango, Foxtrot, Merengue, Polka, and the Swing. It is incredible to see how quickly students are learning these dances. They are not only learning dances, but how to accomplish goals and work together as a team.

Here are some pictures to share our experience.
