CARVER KUDOS
We are starting a new section in the Chronicle called, "Carver Kudos". We are looking to acknowledge those random acts of kindness and compassion that we know happen every day in our great school.
KUDOS TO...
- Mrs. Showan for stepping up since Day 1 of the pandemic. She has remained a caring professional providing us with the information we need 24/7. Huge thanks and distanced hugs!
- Shea Grimes, Emma Lewis and Chance Turski (The Main Office interns) for everything that you do, including this week for helping deliver water bottles to classrooms and helping Mr. Martin with his "print screen" demands.
- The anonymous gift-giver who has been brightening the days of the main office staff with the beautiful flowers they have sent!
- The Class of 2021 Class Officers this week for planning Senior Breakfast for both cohorts. They are responsible for everything that goes into making Senior Breakfast happen. From bringing the hot chocolate and donuts, to making sure the class stays informed of events we can always count on Bella Sheehan, Charlotte Gedraitis, Maya Magnussen, Olivia Rush, and Cora Sousa.
- The Health Office for all of the hard work you have been doing dealing with Covid and all of the extra hours you have been putting in before school, after school and over vacation and on your weekends! You have gone above and beyond to help keep the schools open and safe for everyone! from the The Guidance Office
- Wareham Staples for their generous donation to Carver Middle High School. Thank you so much.

CLUBS
CARING CRUSADERS
"WHAT"S IN YOUR CUP?"
The Brockton Area and Plymouth Area Prevention Collaboratives organized a giveaway in order to encourage positive coping skills amongst students during this difficult. The giveaway includes a reusable water bottle for each student at CMHS. Inside the water bottle is a bookmark with an activity for students to complete. The bookmark asks "What's In Your Cup?" as a way to encourage students to identify their healthy coping skills and things that bring them peace/joy vs. using substances as a coping mechanism. Once students fill out this bookmark, they would then take a picture and upload to social media/tag the usernames provided in order to be entered in a giveaway
to win a $50 gift card.

STICKER SHOCK CAMPAIGN
In partnership with Carver Cares, last year CMHS local students participated in an annual Sticker Shock campaign to design a sticker that will remind adults not to purchase alcohol for minors. The winning sticker was designed last spring by current
CMHS senior SIOBHAN MULREADY.
The winning design offers a simple message ”Think Again, who is really drinking this?” It also asks those who are old enough to buy liquor not to purchase for minors and warns of fines up to $2,000 and/or 12 months in jail.
CMHS students in Caring Crusaders typically visit liquor establishments in late spring to place the decals on coolers. The Covid-19 pandemic put a dent in celebrating the winner of the annual Sticker Shock campaign. But as we continue into 2021, the message may be more important than ever. This year, CMHS Principal, Mike Schultz, Assitant Principal, Mike Martin, SRO Al Silva and Katelyn McSweeney, Coordinator for Plymouth Area Prevention Collaborative visited stores last week.
A big thank you to all of the stores that participated in this initiative!
Participating stores:
Dave's Liquors
Carver Main Street Liquors
Carver Square Wine & Spirits
Jamie's Fine Wines & Spirits
Quickeez Convenience
Nouria (Tremont St)
Nouria (North Main St)

COUNSELING DEPARTMENT
Attention students who are taking the PSAT on Tuesday, January 26th at Carver High School:
It is important that you arrive at the building by 7:20 a.m. as we plan to begin the pre-administration process at 7:30. You will report directly to the Middle School gym, where the testing will take place, unless you have been told to go to an alternative location. On the day of the exam, you must bring 2 sharpened pencils (must be #2 pencils and can’t be mechanical) and a calculator. You can borrow a calculator from the math department, but please make arrangements prior to the exam. Calculators will not be available on the testing day. Please note that the exam was designed to be achieved without the use of a calculator, it just may take longer for some of the calculations. Please know that we will be following all COVID safety guidelines and protocols that include mask breaks and social distancing. Remember that this is a practice exam meant to prepare you for the SAT and also provide you with the opportunity to qualify for college scholarships. There is no need to be stressed or overwhelmed, just try your best! Good Luck!
