August 26, 2016
Memory Verse - Be ready to recite orally by next Friday.

A peek into our week
ELA - We enjoyed fun Spelling Centers to help us learn our words. The SUPER magazine was introduced and we read some really cool non-fiction articles. In writing we learned that lists need to have a title, be numbered, and do not need to be written in complete sentences and had lots of fun working on our own lists. During Read to Self time we read books that we "Just Right" books for each of us.
Math - Number Sense, Number Sense, Number Sense. We are hitting it hard and really working on talking our math and taking ownership for our thoughts and answers. We can't guess in Math and Math always makes sense!
Bible - I was very proud of the way the kids are looking up and highlighting scripture! After we read from the Bible we had fun acting out the story of King Saul and how David spared his life because of David's respect for God's anointed and God. We had great discussions about what respect looks like for us today.
Our days go by SO quickly and I never get to cover everything I have planned, but I realize we are still working on learning the classroom rules and procedures. This takes time on the front end, but always pays off!
